50 Things to do With a Fat Quarter: #14 Mini Tissue Pack Cover

26. August 2013 14:54 by Liz Burton | 0 Comments

For our fat quarter project this week, we thought we would sew this handy tissue pack cover. You can throw one in your purse, your diaper bag, or a child's back pack.  These are really simple and fast.

I am using a fun Bicycles, Scooters & Wagons fabric from the Dress Up Days collection designed by Doohikey Designs for Riley Blake Designs.  It is available at 4my3boys Fabrics.

Let's get started!

Step 1:  Gather your materials; a favorite fat quarter, rotary cutter, ruler, pins, and a tissue pack.

Step 2:  With rotary cutter and ruler, cut three rectangles 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Step 3:  Take two of the pieces and place them right side down. Then fold the fabric over 1" and iron it flat.

Step 4a: Place the back piece right-side up on the table.  4b: Take one of the front pieces and place it right-side down on top of the back piece, making sure to line up the top raw edges.  4c:  Take the other front piece and place it right-side down on top of the other two pieces, making sure to line up the bottom raw edges.  4d: Then pin it.

Step 5: sew! Using 1/4" sew allowance, sew around the entire rectangle.

Step 6: Turn the fabric right-side out and insert the tissues!
