DIY Fat Quarter Projects for your Electronics

I thought I would share with you some DIY ideas for your electronic devices using a fat quarter of fabric. I have included links to tutorials for each of them and some fabric suggestions from our unique collection of novelty fabrics available by the fat quarter at 4my3boyz Fabrics. Check these out!

E-reader, Nook or iPad Stand

What a cool E-reader, Nook or iPad stand by Rikka J.! She has a great tutorial in her blog Ricochet and Away.
This project uses 1 cotton fat quarter but could be done with a charm pack of 5" squares if you want to have more of a quilted look. You could use it to read recipes. For this purpose using oilcloth rather than plain cotton would work better.

This would look great with one of these fabrics from 4my3boyz Fabrics:

No-Sew Mouse Pad In need of a mouse pad for room-to-room roving with your laptop? This quick no-sew version can be made from fabric and cork. I found this tutorial at the blog Funky & Delightful.

How would it look with one of these fabrics?

Camera Cozy

I love this Camera Cozy. What a great idea to protect your point and shoot camera bumping around inside of your purse. Ashley has the tutorial on her blog Mommy by Day Crafter by Night.

I would love one made with one of these fabrics available in my store:

Cell Phone Case

Erin Erickson shares the tutorial for this awesome iPhone Sleeve in her blog Dog Under My Desk

Can you imagine how chic you would be with a phone case in one of these fabrics?

50 Things to do With a Fat Quarter: #11 Potluck Bowl Cover

5. August 2013 23:15 by Liz Burton | 0 Comments

It's August! I can hardly believe it. Soon we will be ending our summers and getting back into the routine of school. Do you have end of summer parties coming up? Well, if you do, you could take your potluck salad in a bowl with a fabric cover made from a fat quarter! I based this project from a tutorial found at The Cottage Home.

So easy to make! I am using the Better Gnomes & Gardens Mushrooms on Pink from 4my3boyz Fabrics. Let's get started!

For the length of the elastic, I simply took my elastic and measured it around the bowl, pulling it snug.

And there you have it! Cute & fun!

50 Things to do With a Fat Quarter: #10 Fabric-Covered Jar Lids

30. July 2013 08:30 by Liz Burton | 0 Comments

I love today's fat quarter project! Not only do you get to use great fabric, but you can up-cycle, as well! I love the idea of taking something you were going to throw away and putting it good use! The jars I am using were recently used to store my pickles and pizza and spaghetti sauces.

I simply gave them a really good wash and put them to work. I am using gray with white polka dots from 4my3boyz Fabrics.  I would also suggest that, if you use a lighter fabric, you paint your lid white.  The darker color of the lid will show through if not painted white. Okay, let's get busy!
