It's Turkey Time again so I thought I would share some Thanksgiving sewing projects and craft ideas I found to add a little warmth to this holiday season.

We have some wonderful fabrics at 4my3boyz.com that would work well for this project!

I love this tutorial from Rebekah Martin at eHow.com

These Patchwork Acorn Potholders would make a wonderful hostess gift! You can see how to make them with a tutorial from Amanda Niederhauser at the Therm-O-Web Blog

Here are some additional Holiday Fabrics that would be perfect to use for this project!

50 Things to do With a Fat Quarter: #11 Potluck Bowl Cover

5. August 2013 23:15 by Liz Burton | 0 Comments

It's August! I can hardly believe it. Soon we will be ending our summers and getting back into the routine of school. Do you have end of summer parties coming up? Well, if you do, you could take your potluck salad in a bowl with a fabric cover made from a fat quarter! I based this project from a tutorial found at The Cottage Home.

So easy to make! I am using the Better Gnomes & Gardens Mushrooms on Pink from 4my3boyz Fabrics. Let's get started!

For the length of the elastic, I simply took my elastic and measured it around the bowl, pulling it snug.

And there you have it! Cute & fun!

50 Things to do With a Fat Quarter: #9 Baby Burp Cloths

22. July 2013 17:27 by Liz Burton | 0 Comments

Did you hear the news? A brand new bouncing-baby boy was born yesterday to the Royal Family! Now, were I a neighbor with the Royal Family, I would definitely take over a few of these fabulous burp cloths! They are made with quilters cotton fabric and a tri-fold cloth diaper which can be purchased from your local big box store.  I love the absorbency of the tri-fold diaper but I wanted to add a bit of fun and color. Today's feature fabric is Easter Little Bunny Floral on Light Blue (and although it is Easter-ish, it screams brand-new baby to me) from 4my3boyz.  These burp cloths are super easy and super fun to make.  And from one fat quarter, you can make three burp cloths!

All done! That's it! And if you are giving away as a gift, simply fold in thirds, roll & tie with a coordinating ribbon! I personally think a new mom can never have too many burp cloths...
