Lunch Bag Tutorials

19. August 2013 08:52 by Liz Burton | 0 Comments

Last week we did a great tutorial on pencil bags for back-to-school.  This week we bring you another back-to-school idea that also helps our environment.  We like that you can throw these in the washer instead of throwing out a brown paper lunch bag.  And they are so much cuter!   4my3boyz Fabrics has just about any novelty fabric you can dream of! Why not let the kids pick some out and make it their own.

Here are some great tutorials we found on making your own re-usable lunch bags.

In the top left picture, Pink Penguin shares a great tutorial on a lunch bag with handles.

In the top right picture, Create Celebrate Explore shares a lunch bag with a button closure & a carrying handle.

In the bottom left,  Fiskars has a great tutorial for an insulated lunch bag.

In the bottom right, Bead & Needle share a tutorial for a simple lunch bag with a Velcro closure.

Here are some fabrics from 4my3boyz Fabrics that we think would make fabulous lunch bags.

Food Festival Breads Rolls and Bagels All Over Doesn't that make you hungry just looking at it!

Mary Engelbreit's Mottos Fabric Makes you want to "Put your heart in it!"

And I don't think you can go wrong with Schools Supplies fabric--be sure to check out all the other School Themed fabrics in this category.

And last, but certainly not least is Pizza!! Again, you need to be sure to check out all the food related fabrics! So much fun!

Happy Lunching!

5 Fabulous Fabric Pencil Cases

23. August 2012 09:50 by tbev | 0 Comments

It's back to school time around these parts, and I've been surfing the Interwebs for fun ideas to add some punch and personality to school supplies. I fell in love with these ideas for fabric pencil cases. From no-sew to a little more intense, all of these ideas would make fun projects and incredible gifts for your back-to-schoolers. Check them out!

This idea from Family Fun is a no-sew project that teens or pre-teens could do themselves. Cute and simple!

I love the coordinating fabrics on these pencil cases from The Monkey Basket. The zipper adds extra security and I love the cute ornaments added as a zipper pull.

Find great, detailed instructions for this pencil case (which also makes a great makeup bag) from Say Yes To Hoboken

I love the quilted details and variety of fabrics on this pencil box from The Cuckoo Bee. Great, detailed instructions here too!

For the child who enjoys organization, this pencil holder from My Decoupaged Life is brilliant (though I'd love to see it in some amazing fabric).

These are the ideas I like, but what about you? Do you have a favorite pencil case idea? Let me know!
