Hurricane Sandy

28. October 2012 20:32 by CarSut | 0 Comments

It is Sunday night, October 28th. As the winds pick up and the forecast deteriorates, I find the need to communicate that there may be delays in getting orders out over the next week. Located just east of Philadelphia, we are at the mercy of hurricane Sandy and I apologize ahead for any inconvenience this may cause. We worked tirelessly all weekend to cut and pack orders that came in since Friday afternoon in hopes of getting to the post office early in the morning. Just an hour ago, the news stations announced the post offices would be closed until at least Tuesday. All hands are on deck for the first break in the weather so that delays will be as minimal as possible. Thank you for all the kind emails, prayers and thoughts that have been pouring in today as we brace for this unprecedented event. Our prayers go out to anyone in harms way with this Frankenstorm as it has come to be called.

Our weekly specials run Thursday through Wednesday (just to keep things interesting) and this week's offering is so much fun! Right now save on all Peanuts Character Fabrics! By the way, who is your favorite Peanuts character? I think mine is Snoopy. Or maybe Peppermint Patty. Or maybe Linus. Or maybe Lucy. Or maybe Pig Pen. Or maybe Charlie Brown. Clearly, I can't choose.

But I can choose a winner of our last giveaway! (Drumroll, please.)

Congratulations to Judy D. from Pikesville, NC! Judy has been notified by email and will be receiving her gift soon.

Speaking of giveaways, it's time for another one. In fact, there's always a giveaway going on here on the blog, so be sure to check the link on the sidebar labeled "The Latest Giveaway." (Giveaways run Thursday to Wednesday.)

This week you can enter to win $25 in free merchandise at 4my3boyz Fabrics

You can enter to win one of two ways:

Fabulous Fabric Pumpkin Ideas

18. October 2012 06:00 by tbev | 0 Comments

I love to decorate with pumpkins during fall, so it's no wonder these fabric pumpkins caught my eye. From schlubby and soft to tailored and tall, these fabric pumpkins are a great decoration that can carry from Halloween through Thanksgiving. I tracked down three different patterns to suit your skill level.

Easy: These fantastic step-by-step instructions with photos from Thompson Family Life are perfect for reluctant sewers.
Pretty Easy: This pattern from Keepsake Quiltings uses less than one fat quarter per pumpkin. Simple instructions with a minimal charge for the pattern.
Medium: This pattern with instructions from Schlosser Designs is a bit more intricate with separate panels (great for mixing fabrics), but still not too tough.

And boy, am I dreaming up some fun fabric pumpkins with the fabrics I've got in stock! Here are a few favorites from my Halloween and Fall Collection:

Fabrics, left to right, from top left:

Halloween Hallmark Mummy, Pumpkin Dracula Fabric
Trick or Treat Funny Pumpkins Wearing Masks
Scribble Monsters II Googly Eyes on Grey Brick
Halloween Black and Orange Stripe
Rainbow Skeletons and Skulls
Tiny Pumpkins RJR Farmers Market
Creepers Peepers Think Spider Webs All Over
Tiny Halloween Pumpkins Jack-o-Lantern
Bat-Tastic Halloween Black Bats on Orange

Of course, there are even more fabrics to choose from at 4my3boyz Fabrics, so check them all out! Which would you pick for your own pumpkin patch?

Fabulous Fabrics for Your Thanksgiving Table

16. October 2012 10:40 by tbev | 0 Comments

Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? Let's forget about the cranberry stuffing and pumpkin pie for a minute to focus on what really matters: your table! I've got some great Thanksgiving-themed fabrics and ideas that can dress up your table.

This Gourd Fabric is beautiful and would work great as a tablecloth, napkins, place mats, or a runner. Wouldn't it be great paired with some simple burlap accents?

Want to incorporate orange into your color scheme? This Orange Gourd Fabric might be just what you're looking for.

The gorgeous turkeys on this Harvest Toile Turkeys Fabric offer a classic look that will never get outdated.

And finally, I love this Thanksgiving Turkeys Fabric. Beautiful colors and fun illustrations combine to make a pattern appropriate for the adults' and kids' table alike! (Speaking of, please don't ask how old I was when I finally graduated from the Thanksgiving kids' table.)
